MCT Trails Closures and Construction

MCT Quercus Grove Trail
The MCT Quercus Grove Trail will be impacted by construction on the IL 157 concrete box culvert located 500 feet south of Trotters Drive in Hamel. The construction work includes regrading of the trail shoulders along the road side. Work is scheduled to be complete September 2019. For your safety, please use caution when using the trail in this area.

MCT Quercus Grove Trail Closure
The MCT Quercus Grove Trail is CLOSED from Hazel Road to Jerusalem Road for reconstruction of the trail surface. The trail is scheduled to reopen in September 2019. For your safety, please avoid this section of trail.

MCT Confluence Trail Closure
Due to flood waters the MCT Confluence Trail is CLOSED from the northerly end of the pedestrian bridge over Wood River to the Great Rivers Research and Educational Center. For your safety, please avoid this area.

MCT Watershed Trail Closure
The MCT Watershed Trail will be impacted by final grading and seeding of mine shaft remediation. This work is estimated to be complete late May 2019. For your safety, please use caution when using the trail in this area.

MCT Confluence Trail
The MCT Confluence Trail will be impacted by restoration work due to levee construction improvements from the southeast end of the pedestrian bridge over Wood River to southeasterly 0.6 miles to Canal Road and the connecting trail that runs north along the Wood River Creek levee in East Alton. The work is estimated to be complete early June 2019. For your safety, please use caution when using the trail in this area.

MCT Confluence Trail Closure
The MCT Confluence Trail will CLOSE June 17, 2019 to allow for the reconstruction of the Terminal Railroad Bridge over the Mississippi River. The trail closure will be from the end of the McKinley Bridge north to the Levee Ramp off E Street in America’s Central Port, Granite City. Construction is estimated to be complete late 2021. For your safety, please avoid this area.
